Sun Care Skin Care

These days the threat of skin cancer looms large. More and more people are worried about it. But some people love the beach and they don’t want to stop going so they look for ways to protect themselves from the sun. One way to do that is to wear a hat and keep track of how much time you have spent in the sun. Don’t stay out there all day, use sunscreen, maybe stay out for an hour and then move in the shade and then do the same every other hour.

Another great way is to use a high SPF for sunscreen, dermatologist recommend that a SPF of 30 or higher is ok, 45 and higher for people who have fairer skin. Skin lotion should be applied every hour, just enough to coat the arms and legs, if you do it heavy and think if I do it as one good dose then I can stay out longer, but that theory doesn’t work. All it does is get you very, very greasy.

You can have fun at the beach as long as you take the proper precautions. You don’t have to stay out of the sun totally but do know your limits, wear hats, bring a loose cover shirt to the beach so you can put it over the shoulders as they burn. Use plenty of protective sunscreen and after you go home, use plenty of Aloe Vera and moisturizer, and don’t let your skin dry out.
